Is it possible to configure caching strategy on a class-by-class and collection-by-collection basis like you can in .hbm files as defined here:

http://www.hibernate.org/hib_docs/v3/re ... ance-cache

?

Thank you in advance, James.

Sorry Michael, just looking for an answer. My company would like to move to using annotations, but wanted to understand if this was on the roadmap to be supported through annotations.

Is this something that is in the works for annotation support? After very carefully reading the documentation, I can't find any mention of it. If this were in the Compliance and Limitations: Still Missing Or Incomplete section, it would have been helpful at least to me.

The longerm goal is surely to make the annotations equally powerful as hbm files, there is no timeframe or anything though.

By the way, if your company needs answers urgently, you should probably consider buying a support contract rather than behaving un-nicely in the forum.

Thank you Michael, we will consider that.

Is there a cvs repository for the annotations extension? Would love to take a look there for how to contribute.

We'll support caching through annotations but I still consider hibernate.cfg.xml a better place to set caching strategies (all in one place).

Add your requests to JIRa in HibernateExt/annotations, and vote for it :-)
