Thanks benaja for the Beanshell tip. But I relly don't wanna mix in even more new tech into this mess. I'm confiused as it is already. But I will definately look into it for my next project!

I implemented and action and started the Hibern8IDE from there and it worked! It feels strange starting a GUI app with an URL from a HTML page :)

Or maybe not. JWS springs to mind.

It is :) Don't do this when the appserver is not on your machine, by the way ;)

The "Execute Java" button

I can see Query menu with "Execute query", "Run schema export",
"Named query" items; "Configuration", "HQL Commander", "Messages"
panes. BeanShell pane is missing.

Where is the "Execute Java" button?

Sorry, I'm very lame.

hmm... I didn't know what is hibernate-extensions...
I visited this page http://www.hibernate.org/27.html.
Information about Hibern8IDE is:
Quote:
Hibern8IDE is a GUI front-end for rapid prototyping of Hibernate queries.

http://www.xam.dk/hibern8ide

So I use an old version (Hibern8IDE 0.9), I didn't know new version.

Thanks

Yeah. The first time i shut down the app my Tomcat mysteriously went down also :)

But as long as I don't have to load the configuration for H8IDE manually I'm happy.

Dwight Shih wrote an article about how to configure hibern8ide programmatically when starting.

Look at:

The "Execute Java" button

I need to take a look a the latest Hibern8IDE, but the Beanshell is worth knowing in its own right. Take a look at my post on Hibernate prototyping with the Beanshell.
