How you you get the hbm2java task to include the javax.validation.constraints annotations such as @NotNull and @Size based on the underlying database field type ?

Why would they not be accepted into the core product ? It's just about any failure to meet these constraints just causes a nasty exception when you try and persist an entity when then underlying database throws a truncation error

Vitali - this feature makes perfect sense to add to hibernate tools core templates; if someone contributes a patch for this and make it optional like JPA and Generics are today for the core this will fit right in.

Will.Tatam - its not a priority for us right now; but if you want to give it a try we will be glad to help!
