Section 4.3.1 of the specification states that '\{', '\}' and '\\' are escape sequences that represent '{', '}' and '\' respectively - but doesn't say what the behaviour of an implementation should be to any other sequence beginning with a '\'. Even a statement that the behaviour is implementation dependent would be an improvement.

The sequence beginning with a '\' just like Java, don't worry.
