Hello!

Is there some general rule when I should basically use bidirectional associations compared to unidirectional associations when it comes to NHibernate specifics?

Best regards,

No general rule from a business model perspective.

Foreign keys can cause null constraint problems and they way to solve them is typically though bi-directional associations.
