I have a column 'userId' that is not a primary key. I would like it to start at a value say 100 and for each row insertion I would like to increment it by 1. I am open to doing it in hibernate or with mysql itself.

How do I do it with hibernate?
OR
If I try to make such configuration with mysql how do I get the latest value of the userId after each row insertion?
